CARE

Care instructions for hair extensions

Hair extensions require more care than your own hair. Your real hair receives nourishment from the roots, which extensions do not. Therefore, it is important to take care of your extensions and use moisturizing products to prevent them from becoming dry, frizzy, or losing their shine.

General tips

  • Do not wash your hair for at least 48 hours after fitting the extensions.
  • Braid your hair while sleeping or exercising. Do not go to bed with wet hair, as this can increase wear and tangling.
  • Detangle and brush your hair morning and evening and before showering. Start at the ends and work gently upwards.
  • Use moisturizing shampoo and conditioner suitable for hair extensions.
  • Let your hair air-dry as often as possible to minimize wear.
  • Avoid salt water and chlorinated water.
  • Use a hair mask and hair oil as needed, but keep these products away from the attachment points.
  • It should be remembered that a hair extension requires more care than regular hair. It is not more advanced but one should spend more time on the hair to keep it nice and shiny.
  • PLEASE NOTE:  The more hair extensions you put in, the more difficult it will be to take care of them. We recommend 1-2 packs if you are new to hair extensions or want more easy-care hair and 2-3 packs if you are more experienced and ready to spend more time on it.

Care of real hair extensions

When washing the hair

  • Do not use shampoo for oily hair, use shampoo for dry hair instead.
  • The shampoo should not contain alcohol or sulfates.
  • Wash your hair with lukewarm water and a moisturizing shampoo. Do not rub the hair, but massage in downward movements.
  • Wash your hair as rarely as possible to avoid unnecessary wear and tear, preferably no more than 1-2 times a week.
  • After washing, use a moisturizing conditioner. If you use a hair mask, apply it before the conditioner.
  • Gently squeeze excess water out of the hair and pat it dry with a towel. Do not rub the hair with the towel.
  • Please let the hair air dry for minimum wear.
  • Then you can straighten, curl and style your hair as you wish! Feel free to use heat protection in your hair when heat styling and remember to keep the hairdryer 30 cm from your hair so as not to damage the attachments.

Dyeing/bleaching the hair

  • As the hair is already colored in the factory, we do not recommend that you dye it again, nor that you bleach it. The result can always vary when you dye or bleach already dyed hair, we therefore also do not recommend color-depositing masks or the like as the result may be different from what you want. All coloring is therefore done at your own risk.
  • This also applies to bleaching, purple shampoo, color-depositing masks, etc.

Care of Keratin Extensions

  • When using Keratin Extensions, remember not to have heat too close to the attachments. For example, a long time in direct sunlight, heat from a hair dryer or hot water can melt or loosen the fasteners. The same applies to hair products at the attachments.
  • Brush and detangle your hair with your fingers both in the lengths and around the bonds daily to keep them from tangling.

Care of Tape Extensions

  • The tape is sensitive to heat and hair products so avoid this near the attachments.
  • Brush your hair often and detangle any tangles.
  • When the hair is wet, the tape can be more porous so it is important to be careful when brushing wet hair.

Care of Micro Ring Extensions

  • Avoid heat and hair products near the attachments as this can loosen the wax that the metal eyelet sits in.

Hair Weft Care

  • Depending on the choice of attachment method, care advice applies to Clip-on Extensions, Micro Ring Extensions or Keratin Extensions.

Care of Nano Hair Extensions

  • Avoid heat and hair products near the attachments as this can loosen the wax that the metal eyelet sits in.

Care of Clip-on Extensions

  • Remove your extensions before exercising, showering or sleeping.
  • Comb through the extensions daily and gently remove any tangles.
  • Make sure the extensions are thoroughly brushed before storing them.
  • You can style the extensions as usual. Wash them by hand in lukewarm water using shampoo and conditioner designed for hair extensions. We recommend washing them as infrequently as possible. Airing them between uses can help keep them fresh without washing.
